CONGRESSMAN AMI BERA
Congressman Ami Bera has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013 and is the longest-serving Indian American in Congress. He is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and Nonproliferation. He is also Vice Chair of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. As a medical doctor and former public health official, Congressman Bera is a strong supporter of American leadership in global health. He deeply believes in a woman’s right to choose and that access to reproductive health care shouldn’t be determined by where you are born. He has fought for international family planning and reproductive health foreign aid programs to increase access to contraception, prevent unintended pregnancies, and to stop the needless deaths of mothers during birth.
CONGRESSMAN RUBEN GALLEGO
Congressman Ruben Gallego has represented Arizona's District 7 in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2015. Representative Gallego is a Marine Corps combat veteran, a lifelong community leader, and the son of Hispanic immigrants. He was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Harvard University with a degree in International Relations. Congressman Gallego serves as assistant Whip for the Democratic Caucus, the First Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Congressional Progressive Caucus Tribal Liaison, and Vice Chair of the LGBT Equality Caucus. Congressman Gallego currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Natural Resources Committee, and serves as Chair of the Natural Resources Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States.
